Personal Activities that relate to Ben's Practice
Prior to being a lawyer, Ben worked as a beach lifeguard each summer for the City of Vancouver from after high school until he completed law school. Ben also worked as a ski patrol, first at Grouse Mountain and then at Blackcomb Mountain in Whistler BC. Ben had extensive first aid training for both of those jobs, and provided emergency first aid and rescue many times over the years. Ben was also a level 2 CSIA Ski Instructor and taught skiing for several years.
Ben loves surfing, snowboarding, skiing, motorcycling, bicycling and hiking.
Ben has experience riding street, off road and enduro motorcycles. Ben has experience riding the Yamaha R1, Honda CBR RR 1000, Harley Street Glide, BMW GS 1200, Yamaha Warrior 1800, KTM EXC 400, and the Honda CRF 450x. Ben likes to ride his KTM enduro motorcycle off road on Vancouver Island where he lives.
Ben is a car guy and enjoys motorsports. He has had driver training at several different venues.
Ben rides his Specialized Roubaix road bicycle to keep fit and is aware of the hazards cyclists face while riding on the road. Ben likes to mountain bike on Vancouver Island, cross country on his Speciaized Stump Jumper. When Ben was a few years younger he liked riding both the Mt Washington and Whistler bike parks.
Ben is a sailor and member of the Nanaimo Yacht Club.
Ben is a member of the Nanaimo Fish and Game Protective Association and enjoys skeet, sporting clays, trap and action shooting.
